CKC Farming operates in partnership with Koiner Farm, located at 737 Easley Street, Silver Spring, MD.

Koiner Farm is a true city farm, located  in the heart of downtown Silver Spring - just 1.5 blocks from the Silver Spring Library.  Koiner Farm was established in 1983 by Mr. Charles Koiner. Today, Koiner Farm is managed by a team of CKC volunteers.  This small urban farm grows a wide variety of produce, including greens, herbs, root vegetables, beans, berries, tree fruits and more.  Koiner Farm sells their harvest at the FRESHFARM Silver Spring Farmer's Market, as well as right from the farm.  All proceeds from the sale of produce go to charity, via CKC Farming.

Koiner Farm is currently the only recognized urban farm in Montgomery County, as defined by Bill 31-16.

CKC Farming hosts school visits to Koiner Farm that apply and enhance the teachers' curricula. CKC Farming hosts memorable school field trips, manages a dedicated group of interns and volunteers, and organizes community picnics, speakers and outreach programs at the farm.

Koiner Farm is an ideal learning environment - not only is it easy to get to, which gives students more time to embrace the experience, it is also filled with more plant diversity than you will often find on 100-acre farms.

A visit to Koiner Farm is hard to put into words - we can only say that this 1-acre corner plot is certainly more than the sum of its parts.
