'GALENTINES' DAY WITH SILVER SPRING CARES
Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 7:00pm-10:00pm at Astro Lab
Grab your gal-pals and join us at Astro Lab Brewing on the 13th to share some love with the local nonprofits who do so much to make Silver Spring a great place to live and work. This is a great opportunity to get out and give back! Be sure to stop by CKC Farming's table to helps us create veggie signs for the garden, labels for our seed starts, and pots with inspirational messages.

STEM-NIGHT AT EAST SILVER SPRING ELEM
Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at ESSE School
East Silver Spring Elementary (ESSE) school is Koiner Farm's home school. Students from ESSE walk over to Koiner Farm several times a year to learn about the hyper-local food system that exists right in their neighborhood. CKC Farming will be coming to ESSE this month to host an exhibit on seeds and preparing seed starts for spring. All ESSE families are welcome to attend!

CKC Farming will be at Rooting DC again this year. Rooting DC is the DC regions premier festival celebrating urban farming. This year, our workshop explores the viability of urban farms and offers solutions such as a break down on local land incentive structures and tax-break options, as we as diverse funding sources. The workshop is titled "In the Black" and starts at 9:45am!

Koiner Farm's Annual Spring Volunteer Day is just around the corner! We are looking for strong and energetic volunteers to help us prepare for the 2020 growing season. We will be clearing out garden beds, turning in cover crop, laying compost, and cleaning out the garage. Please bring your own work gloves and water bottle.
